John Mikullitz • National Director Energy Programs
John Mikullitz possesses more than 19 years of technical experience with the design and development of comprehensive energy management, environmental stewardship and operations and maintenance programs. John is currently the Director of Energy Programs responsible for managing a team of 28 technical professionals that provide energy efficiency support for various education and healthcare clients throughout the United States.
John has achieved several notable accomplishments within the energy and environmental stewardship community. He invested nearly eighteen months of his career, outside of his position at Aramark, with the research and development of an Energy-Management publication for an Information Technology (IT) Textbook. The publication identifies how IT can be effectively incorporated into an Institution’s Energy Management System.
Mr. Mikullitz also invested much of his free time working at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute with a start-up technology research firm, MATERIALAB. He led a four-member team with the development of the company’s business plan. The company, an interdisciplinary research firm, is currently testing a new photovoltaic facade composed of “integrated concentrator solar modules”, which may provide a credible solution for substantially reducing a building’s energy and carbon footprint. The Business Plan has helped the research firm obtain more than $1 million in research grants from the New York State Energy Research Development Association, who hopes the technology will help the state and the nation reach the long-term goal of lowering the cost of solar energy to a level where it can compete with fossil fuels. A pilot project for the technology has been installed on a building in Syracuse, New York.
